Job Location: Woodside Racquet Club Management - Westwood, KS
Salary Range: $15.00

Description

Summary Description

Under the general direction of the Director of Spa Retail, the Pool Concierge is responsible for member and/or guest engagement and satisfaction during the Woodside summer season. The Pool Concierge is also responsible for upholding and enforcing all club rules and policies set forth by Woodside. It is important that the Pool Concierge always maintains a good and helpful working relationship with all summer Facilities & Food Drink employees.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Interacts with all members and/or guests courteously and efficiently
  • Ensures that all members and/or guests have what they need to enjoy their experience, are offered food and drink items in a timely manner, and that their area is cleaned and restored upon arrival / departure
  • Enhances the member and/or guest experience at the pool by selling sun shop retail items
  • Promotes retail and sales through engagement with members, giving suggestions and providing knowledge on all products
  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of all spa services and product offerings – able to communicate and assist in bringing awareness to any marketing / promotional activities for The Spa
  • Works directly with the Spa Retail Management team on what items to promote and offer to members based around events
  • Learns member preferences and uses them throughout their visit to tailor their experience
  • Ensures all music levels are at the designated level
  • Opens / closes the concierge station
  • Assists with towel service
  • Assists with water stations making sure they are stocked with cups, etc.
  • Assists members and/or guests with transportation services
  • Assists with taking reservations for social events at the Club
  • Periodically passes out amenities or promotional products and upsells other items
  • Has good knowledge of the overall Club and all fitness and wellness offerings
  • Adheres to all POS and cash handling policies & procedures
  • Monitors area to make sure no outside food or drink is present
  • Reports any suspicious activity immediately to MOD
  • Assists with implementation of Club ules and regulations to ensure a safe and professional environment for all members and/or guests & employees
  • May at times be asked to support special events within Club
  • Maintains clean, organized and visually appealing areas in and around pool areas and all food drink outlets
  • Moves throughout the shift with purpose
  • Complies with Club’s employee handbook manual, departmental policies and procedures and with all applicable federal and state employment laws
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Job Standards

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

Education/

Experience:

High School Diploma. At least 1-2 years of club desk experience.

High School Diploma or the equivalent

1-2 years of customer service experience is necessary

21 Years or Older

Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Keyboard accuracy
  • Knowledge of general office equipment
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written
  • Demonstrates creativity, diplomacy
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and focus on details
  • Ability to work and coordinate with several internal departments
  • Ability to reason and problem solve without precedent
  • In alignment with company policy and the relevant laws and regulations

Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of club and amenities
  • Computer literate and experience with Point of Sale Systems

Licenses:

  • Valid State ID or Driver’s License, and/or reliable transportation to work

Special Requirements:

  • Regular and predictable attendance is required including Thursday -Sunday availability
  • Ability to work special events, promotions and other demands of the position which required early morning, late evenings and weekend hours
  • Ability to stand, sit and move throughout the pool facility several times during shift
  • Ability to move 20 pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be 21 years

Working Conditions:

Safety Hazards:

  • 95% outside in summer heat around pool areas
  • Large volume of people during times of hot weather
  • Operates in and around pool area in extreme weather conditions walking and standing
  • Required to work both in and outside in high heat summer temperatures
  • Working in around lots of people where noise levels can be excessive
  • Flexible and changing working hours – must be available per business needs
  • Schedule will vary based on weather and the needs of the business, particularly for special events, promotions, etc.
  • Hazard may include, but are not limited to: slipping and tripping
